The Democrats have been on a roll lately, canceling anything and everything that even remotely goes against their plan or what they call racism and bigotry.
But as one of their own just pointed out, if they are going to be honest with themselves and this nation, the next thing they need to cancel is their own party, name and all.
Georgia Democrat and state Representative Vernon Jones boldly tweeted out this past weekend, on the eve of Independence Day, that the Democratic party was nearly the father of racism, bigotry, and the Confederacy in the United States.
For those sins alone, it should no longer exist. And Jones made a point to challenge the party to do something about it, namely to disband and rename the group.
He wrote, “If the Democrats are looking to eradicate everything with a “racist history,” when will my party confront and apologize for its own? If relics of the past must come down, shouldn’t we start with the Democrat Party?”
Now, just to be clear, Jones is a Democrat. But really only by name. In April, he became the first and only black, southern Democrat to endorse President Trump for re-election. And the storm that resulted nearly caused him to resign.
But he decided that someone within the party needed to be able to hold the rest of them accountable “to how they are treating black people, root out the bigotry.”
And so he stayed.
But that doesn’t mean he enjoys his party’s agenda. Along with is written words, Jones included a two minute, 19-second video, in which he continued to belittle his party and the members who so arrogantly act like they are above it all.
He said, “What I see happening from the Democrats and the Left: banding together, going throughout this country unlawfully tearing down statues and removing monuments and changing the name of streets and buildings because they feel it’s associated with racism and bigotry and the Confederacy.”
But he pointed out that the Democratic Party of the past and today are full of the very same things they claim to be so adamantly against.
The Democratic Party began in the American South by prominent slave owners, and thusly they fought for that “right.” When the northern United States decided that slavery should be no more, the party urged its members to succeed from the Union and form the Confederacy.
And when they lost the Civil War, and the right to own slaves, more prominent members of the party began one of the evilest and racist domestic terrorist groups known to our nation: the Ku Klux Klan.
Now, naturally, the Democrats of today like to hide these facts, especially in light of the cancel culture they have created.
And that isn’t to say that times haven’t changed the party. Obviously, slavery is an evil that we, as a nation, can no longer allow, just as being racist is. But as Jones notes to his audience, the party is still full of murder and mayhem.
Take the organization’s obsession with Margaret Sanger, for instance.
Sanger is the founder of what would later become Planned Parenthood. You know, the group that can single-handedly claim that they have slaughtered about 20 million black babies since 1973 when the Supreme Court made their horrible Roe v. Wade ruling.
And yet Democrats claim “black lives matter.”
Well, apparently, only if those lives can defend themselves. Because when it comes to babies and children, they are on their own, left to the whims of a woman who doesn’t want to lose her figure to childbirth.
Jones also pointed out Democrats of today like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and presidential candidate Joe Biden, are in the same hypocritic boat.
Pelosi has, since the death of George Floyd and the subsequent protests in favor of Black Lives Matter, taken down at least four portraits of previous House Speakers simply because they had ties to the Confederate South. But you can bet your bottom dollar that she isn’t going to cancel herself because of her party affiliations.
And to Joe Biden’s claim that voters who didn’t know who to vote for “ain’t black,” Jones has a challenge.
He said, “Join me and others. Let’s challenge the Democratic Party, to have at their national convention, the No. 1 platform issue that they will disband and change the Democratic Party.”
