Now that federal law enforcement agents have left Portland, Oregon, corporate media and outspoken Twitter users are doing their part to misconstrue what really happened in recent weeks as violent protestors destroyed their own city.
Federal agents arrived in Portland on July 22 to aid against destruction and violence brought on by weeks of thousands gathering in the city streets each night. Reports from local news say that rioters have been targeting the city’s federal buildings both before and during federal agents stay in Portland.
Trump tweeted that the agents would remain in Portland until Brown brought the protests led by “anarchists and agitators” under control. “If she can’t do it, the Federal Government will do it for her. We will not be leaving until there is safety!” Trump wrote.
Kate Brown, Governor of Oregon, isn’t doing her job. She must clear out, and in some cases arrest, the Anarchists & Agitators in Portland. If she can’t do it, the Federal Government will do it for her. We will not be leaving until there is safety!

On July 3 just before the ramped up federal presence, Wheeler complained, “This [rioting] has been going on for more than a month now.”

Last Thursday, federal agents withdrew from active peacekeeping roles. Now, local and state authorities are finally policing Portland. But according to reports coming out of corporate, national media, the Portland rioters have been overall peaceful and the violence was actually incited by federal agents. The latest spin is that once the federal agents withdrew last Thursday, the chaos subsided.
An article from The Guardian read, “Portland sees peaceful night of protests following withdrawal of federal agents.” The Wall Street Journal wrote, “With No Federal Agents on Streets, Portland Protests Turn Largely Peaceful,” and The Washington Post published the headline, “Calm returns to Portland as federal agents withdraw.” These stories effectively incited a Twitter storm of leftists thirsty to shift the blame from rioters to President Trump and federal agents.
The Journal reported that peaceful mothers are leading the Portland demonstrations. A new viral ad released by The Lincoln Project on Sunday dramatically praised these yellow-shirted “working”, “soccer”, and “stay-at-home moms” who stood between the rest of the protesters and Trump’s “faceless paramilitary thugs,” aka the federal agents.

Linking to The Journal article, one user wrote, “Since federal agents have left Portland, the protests have been largely peaceful, with moms leading chants and a renewed focus on racial justice. The angry and hostile tone Trump has set is gone.”

Sounding off on the corporate media narrative, another user wrote, “There have been 3 straight nights of peaceful protest since trump’s goons left Portland. It’s NOT a coincidence.”

The Post Millennial editor, Andy Ngo, who made a name for himself covering Antifa and has been on the ground in Portland, is firing back at the media and Twitter rabble. Ngo explained that even though federal officers have left Portland, rioters are still terrorizing local and state law enforcement.
Linking to a report by the Portland Police Bureau Ngo wrote, “No. Yesterday antifa launched an attack on the Portland Police SE precinct. They hurled paint-filled glass containers at officers guarding the building. In downtown, they started a fire on the garage of the federal courthouse.”

In the Portland streets, consumed by fire, sirens, and chaos, one of Ngo’s posts revealed an alarming video of a rioter sucker punching a man.

Ngo has also exposed Antifa members arrested in Portland, something entirely ignored by the corporate media, leftists on Twitter, and Democrat lawmakers, like Rep. Jerry Nadler (D- NY), who called Antifa violence “a myth.”

Ngo is set to be a featured witness in the upcoming Senate Subcommittee hearing Tuesday on violence and criminal acts tied to Antifa. The subcommittee, chaired by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), will hold a hearing titled “The Right of the People Peaceably to Assemble: Protecting Speech by Stopping Anarchist Violence.”
