he dirty Dems really have to be careful about using words like “never.” They always seem to come back to haunt them, and that’s when the GOP gets to hear the sweet sound of victory.
Chicago Mayor, Lori Lightfoot, said that she would “never” accept Trump’s help in the form of allowing federal agents to enter her city.
Oh, but she has. The city’s crime wave has gotten to be too considerable. Dozens of shootings have been happening every weekend. She can’t, in good faith, continue to turn her back on the city.
So, she did what she swore she would never do. She got down on her hands and knees and begged Trump for help. Well, she called him, but to her, it must have felt like the ultimate level of defeat.
Just a day ago, the Chicago mayor said that he was engaging in a “sexist campaign” that targeted Democratic female mayors by sending in federal officers. She referenced female-run cities such as Atlanta, DC, and Seattle. She must have forgotten that one of the first cities that needed federal help was Portland – and that’s run by a man. That, or she really doesn’t think much of Ted Wheeler.
On Tuesday, she tweeted: “Under no circumstances will I allow Donald Trump’s troops to come to Chicago and terrorize our residents.”
Meanwhile, the hard truth of what’s happening in Chicago is making headlines. There are over 117,000 gang members in Chicago. BLM protests have become increasingly more violent. And the gang shootings are getting worse.
Guess what? You absolutely need the help of feds to get things out of control. The Chicago PD cannot (and will not) do it on their own. The CPD has even been asking for Trump’s help.
On Wednesday, Trump and Lightfoot had a chat. She has accepted federal resources to help. They went over a strategy and she will be allowing the Department of Homeland Security to send in officers to help with investigations.
Lightfoot was ready to go on a political crusade just to avoid asking for Trump’s help. She decided to make it political than to ask for help since the president is Trump. Had the president still been Obama, she would have asked for help months ago. But, she had to play to the favor of the liberals.
Now, she’s realized that she can’t do it without him. If she’s going to start to solve the problems in Chicago, she needs federal help – and Trump would rather put the needs of the American people first than to play a bunch of political games like the Dems continue to instigate.
In an effort to keep face, Lightfoot doesn’t want to say, “thank you.” Instead, she has issued a threat to Trump and the White House, with a statement coming out of her office to say, “The Mayor has made clear that if there is any deviation from what has been announced, we will pursue all available legal options to protect Chicagoans.”
Well, news flash. If certain Chicagoans are found to be breaking the law, they will be arrested. Not kidnapped, arrested. It’s hard for Dems to understand what the law looks like since they like to be anarchists. Kidnapping is their new favorite term for being arrested. However, it’s also a bail and not a ransom, so let’s be clear about that. People who kill other people are breaking the law, whether it’s in the name of social justice or not. And those who kill are murderers – and there are legal implications for such a thing.
Mayor Lightfoot may not like help. She may not want help. She won’t admit to accepting the help. But, the reality is, she’s been failing the city for far too long. She’ll take the help and it will be the best thing for the city of Chicago. Since she won’t say it, we will. Thank you, Mr. President.
